TNBA4Sports consists of business professionals who have come together to
network and build relationships within the business community.
THE NATIONAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is a networking organization for ex-pro athletes, current players with a business, and business leaders. TNBA4Sports makes business networking easier by connecting successful professionals who can help each other grow their business and improve their client base. It was organized in 2004 in Charlotte by Rod Smith(NFL), Toby Kearney(NHL), Brian Henry(NVL), and Warren Shinn for the purpose of bringing together networking opportunities for business professionals.
The association has a monthly luncheon meeting, with a featured speaker. The speaker is often one of the chapter members and sometimes an outside professional with information of interest to the membership.
TNBA4Sports offers a wealth of information on a variety of business related issues. It is a resource for business professionals of all types to exchange leads, obtain various services for clients, and generally improve and enhance one's own business through networking with a variety of business professionals in many different fields.
TNBA4Sports is a catalyst for networking within the business community across the U.S. by providing members with a forum for the exchange of information and opportunities to become acquainted with other business owners and entrepreneurs in, or associated with a wide variety of industries. Chapters meet monthly for lunch from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. The format begins with networking, followed by lunch and a speaker. Additionally, the chapter members sponsor two community service projects annually in their community.
TNBA4Sports membership is open to former pro athletes of any sport who own, manage or represent a business and to select businesses offering non competing services.
Members are listed in the on-line directory and have the ability to link to their company sites, receive and respond to e-mailed inquiries, read association news, correspond on-line with other members, register for TNBA4Sports events and reserve for meetings. Members will also have sponsorship opportunities available including banner ads, membership directory links and newsletter ads.
We welcome you to TNBA4Sports. You may participate as a sponsor, member or guest depending on your desired exposure. TNBA4Sports encourages current and retired pro athletes to attend. All current and former pro athletes in any sport are welcome. Sponsorships and memberships offer companies a year-to-year program of exposure to TNBA4Sports members and associates.
TNBA4Sports is a member only organization. One may visit twice or be invited as a guest by a member. Industry exclusivity is offered for certain businesses. Each business must be approved by the board in order to become a member. If you represent more than one company, you may promote only one business category. Guests may attend chapter meetings twice ONLY (one chapter twice, or two chapters once each), before they will be asked to make a decision about joining.
Membership and Sponsorship levels have been structured in order to make benefits more valuable and your company noticed more frequently. Memberships and Sponsorships are prorated for the year following your initial annual membership (if joining after January).
If you are a guest and your business falls into an exclusive category, the member that holds that spot may accept or deny attendance and membership. If you find yourself in that situation, you may be placed on a waiting list. When a term ends and does not renew, your company may be eligible to fill that category. Due to the limited number of attendees it is important that all RSVP for lunch meetings and special events.

Applications for membership and sponsorships are on an approval basis by TNBA4Sports board. One may apply online or by paper application. Exclusivity is limited to non athletes as any athlete may join in any business category upon approval.
THE NATIONAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is more than a business referral organization for business professionals. It is a community where any former pro athlete business owner, manager, or sales representative, and select business owners, are welcome to join and participate in an open forum where the challenges of business can be discussed.
TNBA4Sports is also a resource center and marketing platform for business needs. We are a national organization headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
